Provision Of Water by Project MAJI in Askiuma District

Yesterday, The district assembly proudly welcomed Mr. Sunil Lalvani, CEO of Project Maji, as we strengthened our commitment to delivering clean and sustainable water to our people. A core pillar of our development agenda.

This milestone visit follows the earlier signing of a Memorandum of Engagement with Country Director Dr. Lydia Senanu, which officially marked the beginning of Project Maji’s work in our district.

At Ayipey, we witnessed firsthand the life-changing impact of this partnership. The newly completed solar-powered water system is already improving public health, reducing the burden on women and children, and boosting school attendance.

We also visited Nwomaso and Amoanda, where access to clean water remains a major challenge. These engagements have further fueled our resolve to scale up interventions and ensure no community is left behind in the district-wide water development plan.

Hon Olivia Bentil assured Mr. Lalvani of the Assembly’s unwavering support and shared vision of making clean water a reality for every household. Water is not a luxury. it is a right. Through this impactful partnership, we are proving that with the right leadership and commitment, real change is possible.

Let us continue to build a district where development is visible, meaningful, and felt in every home.
