National Sanitation Day

National Sanitation Day

National Sanitation Day is a voluntary nationwide cleanup exercise which is held on every First Saturday of the Month aimed at improving sanitation and reducing unsanitary conditions. The day was initially declared in response to the 2014 Ghanaian cholera outbreak.

The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Linda Obenewaa Akweley Ocloo, announced the reintroduction of the National Sanitation Day and a cleanest city Award to promote a competitive and responsible approach to environmental sanitation across the Country.

On the 12th of April 2025, Breman Asikuma-Odoben -Brakwa District embarked on the Clean up exercise as directed by the Regional Minister. The staff of the District Assembly together with the people of the Breman Asikuma came together for a fruitful exercise.
