National Sanitation Day – July Edition

National Sanitation Day – July Edition

Every first Saturday of the month, various MMDAs across Ghana unite for National Sanitation Day, a vital initiative aimed at promoting cleanliness, public health, and civic responsibility. On the 5th of July, Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District Assembly took the lead once again.

In a vibrant show of community spirit, the Assembly led by the DCE, Hon Olivia Bentil actively engaged the youth of the district in the sanitation exercise. Young volunteers joined forces with Assembly staff, local leaders, and sanitation officers to clean public spaces, desilt gutters, and educate residents on proper waste disposal. The energy and enthusiasm of the youth were nothing short of remarkable, proving that when empowered, they become powerful agents of change.

The July exercise wasn’t just about sweeping streets—it was about sweeping in a new mindset. Through teamwork, mentorship, and shared purpose, the event fostered a deeper sense of ownership and pride in our environment.

We are deeply honored by the presence and support of our Member of Parliament (MP) Hon. Alhaji Alhassan Kobinah Ghansah, the NADMO Coordinator, Mr. Kofi Ampomah, and our revered traditional chiefs, whose leadership and encouragement continue to inspire collective action. Their participation underscores the importance of unity in building a cleaner, healthier future for all.

Let’s keep the momentum going—because sanitation is not a one-day event, it’s a lifestyle.
