Green Ghana
The Green Ghana Day which was introduced in 2021, by H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo as part of an aggressive national afforestation/reforestation programme to restore the lost forest cover of Ghana and to contribute to the global effort to mitigate climate change. The maiden edition was held on June 11 2021, where an estimated 7million tree seedlings were planted across the nation.
This year 2024, 11th June, the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District Assembly held its Green Ghana Day at Amoanda in the Breman Asikuma District. In attendance was Hon. Lawrence Edutuah-Esiaw(DCE), Mr. Paul Acquah (DCD), Mr. Kweku Boateng(District Forestry Officer), Mr. Jawula(District Agric Director), Mr. Nyame(Deputy Director of Education, Breman Asikuma) as well as reps of Omanhene, the Chief of Breman Kuntanase and the chief of Breman Ayipey.
