The Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District Assembly on Wednesday, 3rd September 2025, successfully held a one-day tailor-made Organisational Development (OD) training at the District Health Directorate.
The training, guided by the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs (MLGRCA), formed part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the capacity of Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) under the District Assembly Performance Assessment Tool (DPAT). This framework provides the basis for assemblies to access performance-based financial support from the District Assemblies Common Fund – Responsiveness Factor Grant (DACF-RFG).
Findings from the 2023 DPAT assessment revealed that 61 District Assemblies, including Asikuma Odoben Brakwa, faced unique capacity gaps that required tailor-made interventions. This programme was therefore designed to build practical skills, improve compliance, and strengthen the implementation of the Annual Action Plan (AAP) at the Assembly level.
The District Assembly expressed its appreciation to all participants for their active involvement, noting that the knowledge and insights gained will go a long way in improving service delivery and governance in the district.
