The Asikuma-Odoben Brakwa District Assembly has officially commenced a district-wide revenue mobilization exercise aimed at enhancing internally generated funds (IGF) to support local development initiatives. The exercise, which began on 5th of January 2026, is part of the Assembly’s broader strategy to improve service delivery, infrastructure development, and socio-economic growth.
According to the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Olivia Bentil, the mobilization drive will focus on property rates, business operating permits, market tolls, and other local levies. She emphasized the importance of voluntary compliance by residents and business owners, noting that increased revenue will directly translate into better roads, improved sanitation, enhanced healthcare, and educational facilities.
The District Coordinating Director, Mrs Sally Salla Mahama and District Finance Officer led the staff of the District Assembly together with National Service Personnels to embark on the exercise.
The revenue mobilization exercise is expected to run throughout the fiscal year, with periodic assessments to track progress and address challenges. The Assembly has assured the public that all funds collected will be used judiciously to improve the quality of life for residents.
