Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District Assembly on Friday 5th December 2025 celebrated its 41st District Farmers Day at Assin Fosu.

The Central Regional minister, Hon. Ekow Okyere panyin, NDC regional Chairman, Dr. richard Asiedu, Regional Agric Director, DCEs together with farmers, traditional leaders and community members to celebrate the invaluable contributions of farmers and fishers to the district’s/region development and food security.

The District Chief Executive,Hon Olivia Bentil, praised the resilience and dedication of local farmers, especially in the face of climate change and economic challenges.

The Highlight of the event was the presentation of awards to outstanding farmers in the region as well as the district.

Other award categories included Best Youth Farmer, Best Female Farmer, Best Livestock Farmer, and Best Agro-Processor. Each awardee was presented with prizes ranging from farming tools and equipment to household appliances.
